If you are considering the purchase of a mascot costume for the first time, you may feel overwhelmed. ProMo Costumes, the Friendly Costume Company, will guide you through the entire process of obtaining a custom character costume. We make it painless and entertaining. After all, how many endeavors are there in life when you discuss 7-foot tall animals, four fingered hands, walking wine bottles,or removable heads? This is going to be fun!

We have outlined the basic steps in the process from the first contact through the delivery of your mascot costume.

1. You first need to contact ProMo Costumes, the Friendly Costume Company. This can either be via email (info@promocostumes.com) or by calling our toll free number (800-572-2666). All you need for this initial contact is an idea or a desire to have a mascot costume. Just call us, it’s always fun to discuss the possibilities.

2. One of our Friendly staff members will answer your call or email and assess your requirements. If you have a logo or design that you want to have made into a mascot, we will ask you to send or email that information to us. Based on the artwork provided, we can usually give you a ballpark quote at that time.

3. If you don’t have any artwork, one of our costume designers will talk with you. This is best done over the telephone. We have found that even if you think that you don’t have any idea what you want, there is usually a great idea somewhere in your mind that can be drawn out within a few minutes.

4. Once we have an idea, our talented art department will create a color sketch of the proposed mascot costume. We will send you this color sketch, along with a detailed, customer friendly, description of the costume, price quote and a full set of fabric swatches. This design process usually takes about 10 days.

5. After receipt of this proposal, we will them contact you to see if you have any questions or would like to make any changes. We will work with you until you are completely satisfied with the proposal. Accessories, such as cooling systems, ventilation fans, carrying and shipping bags and crates, and custom clothing items will be discussed at this time. This is all done at no cost to you. We do ask that you not use our artwork to solicit quotes from other costume companies.

6. After approval of the proposal, we require a 50% deposit in order to place your costume mascot on our production schedule. We usually schedule delivery in about 6-8 weeks from receipt of the deposit. However, we will always attempt to meet any requested delivery date.

7. During the production of your costume mascot, we will keep you informed of the progress. During construction, we will provide email pictures of your custom costume. This allows us to fine tune our creations and assures you that there will be no surprises at delivery and that your mascot will look exactly like you wanted. We include full dressing, safety and care instructions with each mascot costume.

8. When we near completion of the mascot, we will contact you and decide upon the best shipping method for your particular needs. Most of our mascots can be sent economically via UPS or Fedex.

9. Upon delivery of your new mascot, we will contact you and answer any questions that you might have.

The staff of ProMo Costumes, the Friendly Costume Company, is always available before the sale, during construction, and after delivery to address any concerns that you might have or to answer any questions. We also like to keep in touch to see how the new mascot is getting along and to hear about it’s exploits.

We also can provide miniatures of your new mascot. These are usually 6-7 inch plush toy replicas of your mascot. These can be used as give aways, incentives for contests or can be sold to help pay for the original cost of the mascot.
